Expectations for Students

Students should take the initiative to contact their mentors first.  The first connection with your mentor will likely take place in December when the program hosts its' intro kick-off/social event. If you are unable to attend the intro event, you can register for an alternative Zoom Q & A session. The majority of your interactions will take place in the spring semester.

Students/mentees are expected to take a leadership role in the process. The student should take the lead by contacting their mentor for meeting arrangements, as well as objectives and questions for each meeting.

A minimum of 4-6 meetings is expected. Examples of activities include meeting at a local coffee shop or at the mentor's office, job shadowing, resume reviews, mock interviews, office tours, virtual meetings, observing meetings or various interactions at your mentor's workplace, volunteering at a community event together, or other meetings agreed upon with your mentor.

Mentors and mentees in Business Connections will attend a closing banquet at the end of the spring semester to reflect upon their experiences, network with other participants and enjoy a meal.

Contact the program director if you have any questions or concerns regarding your mentoring relationship or the program overall:
